Hi, my name is Paul.

I'm a non-smoking, slim, youthful looking 32 year old and I like..............................oops!

Sorry wrong web-site.................

AHEM!

The elder statesman of the band since Uncle Jon Witham retired to his brushes and Clairol foot spa,

I’ve been with the Mag 7 since they were Magnificent.

I started playing in bands in the early 80’s&ldots;.1980’s and was a founder member of Maison Rouge who won the Star Hoffmeister Rock & Pop contest in 1984. We enjoyed a good local following (mainly because we owed them money) playing self written material with a few cover songs thrown in and recorded a single, which, although didn’t get to No.1 came in handy propping up Phil’s bed.

After a couple of line up changes Maison Rouge became the Rouge, and that is where I was first introduced to the talents (if belching and farting at the sometime is a talent) of Mick Connolly, bachelor of this Parish, who joined the band playing bass. We continued playing for a couple of years until the Rouge split up and with ever receding hairline and ever increasing waistline I decided early retirement from the rockstar lifestyle was the order of the day. But was later tempted back into the fore with an offer I couldn’t refuse............... a chance of playing in a band with Taff Jenkins, guitar wizard and alecart extraordinaire, who needed the money to replace his mud covered suit. So it came to pass that Taff and I, together with instigator Mick, plus two other reprobates set forth to play across the sea in Eire. So was born the Little Rascals.

The Little Rascals got slightly larger for the second visit to Eire with Bol Roberts replacing the previous drummer, who was still trying to wash the sick and slime out of his jeans.

Once again a triumph, we returned to Blighty but decided not continue our love affair with the muse .......................................................

Bol wanted to be coloured in!

Pensioned off again!

Then, tempted to play in a band with someone older than myself I limped at the opportunity , and together with old pals Mick, Phil, Bol and new chum Jon, The Magnificent Seven was born (although there are only five of us).

And so after a few personnel changes and a recent major shake up, which saw original member Jon retire and Bol leave pending fatherhood, we come to the present line up. So with batteries recharged and some new songs, we’ve been dragged screaming into the 21st century with the birth of our website, wonders never cease!

Pass the Philosan and embrocation,

See you at the gigs,

PW

Now, where was I................................. and I like the occasional drink ;-)
